D.I.Y. Wedding cake Toppers

Some weeks ago I discovered a super cool wedding, Greek, site.
Myrto Kazi, director of Yes I do, came up with the idea of a guest post.

I had so much fun planning and making this super cool, wedding cake tutorial!

To make the toppers you will need:
- A print of your favorite heroes + a banner with their names on it
- Gold hard paper
- Crafting glue
- Scissors
- Bamboo sticks

You'll need a cake and a frosting, too!
I used the classic marble cake, chocolate chips and vanilla frosting.

And now the fun part:

Step 1: Cut carefully the figures and the banner

Step 2: Spread some glue on the back side

And lean the sticks on the glue and let them to dry out

Step 3: Spread some more glue on the whole surface

Step 4: Put them on the back of the golden paper

Step 5: Cut them again, after the glue is completely stable.

Step 6: Cut 3-4cm. from the end of the figures, to make them a bit shorter than the banner

After baking and chilling the cake, cover it with frosting and drive in the toppers.

The cake is ready!

You can use you own photos, too!
Just get inspired and adjust it on your own tastes.

Have fun!-Yes, you do!

Minnie Mouse Cake for a Mini Beautiful Lady

Our friend's daughter Myrto wanted me to make her cake, for her fifth birthday party.

She had seen a two tiered, Minnie mouse cake in a pastry shop and she asked for one looks alike.

And here's my result:

I had made the Batman cake, the Riddler's hat cake and the Monster high inspired cake for her older brothers and sister, in the past. So she wanted so bad a big cake even thought there were less than15 people at her party...

That's why I used chocolate cake, nutella frosting as filling, buttercream for covering and fondant for the top tier...

...and Styrofoam cylinder covered with fondant, for the base!

I think that's the cutest cake I've made so far. Much better than my first Minnie Mouse Cake, and much cuter than my Mickey Mouse Cake...

Very happy birthday Myrto!

Rolling Stones' birthday cake

This time I made a cake for my birthday boy : )

I made fondant, I colored it, I rolled it and finally I cut it into the Rolling stones' logo shape.

It was by far the most tasteful cake! I used chocolate cake, nutella frosting and I covered it with milk chocolate ganache...

Monster High Inspired Cake

Dora is a little girl who loves "Monster High"

She wanted a three tire cake for her birthday party

Monster high is a show about high-school girls who love fashion.
Some of them are vampires and some other wolfmen.

All of the tires were unique, with different tastes and flavors.

Happy birthday Dora!
