Rolling Stones' birthday cake

This time I made a cake for my birthday boy : )

I made fondant, I colored it, I rolled it and finally I cut it into the Rolling stones' logo shape.

It was by far the most tasteful cake! I used chocolate cake, nutella frosting and I covered it with milk chocolate ganache...

Are quiet easy and really fun to make them!

To Make It :

Cookie dough
Food coloring
Colored sugar
Edible confetti or sugar sprinkles
3 cookie cutters (little star, big star, tree shaped)
Icing (1cup powdered sugar + 1tbsp water)
Toothpicks

First, prepare your cookie dough

keep the 1/5 of the dough
and add yellow food coloring

in the rest of the dough add green food coloring

and knead until the dough start looking like this

then, roll it, cut it (using cookie cutters) and bake your cookies (7-8min at 400D/ 180C )

draw a garland using icing

and deep it in colored sugar

remove the extra sugar with a little brush

you can add confetti or sprinkles using icing as glue

Peg a toothpick in the top of the trees and 2 more in the bottom

Secure the tree on the green, star cookie, so as it can stand up

Add the little, yellow, star cookies on the top

DIY Christmas Tree

Xmas is a great time to show off your creativity!
Last year I've made a really quick and cheap Xmas lill' tree.
All you need is a piece of...

cardboard!
Take a cardboard and design on it 2 simple trees with a star on top, like on the pattern below.

Cut your trees and then cut two lines as you see on the image
After that, put your two pieces together by haling the one tree vertically to the other.
Your DIY Xmas tree is ready (in less than 15 minutes)!

You can now decorate it as you wish.
I glued sheets of gold on the star, I hand-sewed some mushrooms and I put necklace with colorfull beads.
Have fun!

A Cute Cupcake Pillow for a Cute Girl

Hello there!
Some months ago I've been asked to sew a cupcake for a cupcake-junkie girl!
Although she's skinny, she loves cakes, chocolates, ice creams, sweet syrups, whipped creams and all of the cute goodies like cupcakes!

After some tries (failed ones), I thing I've made the cutest, girly, fluffy, glam cupcake pillow ever!
I tried to sew a 3D little cupcake, I tried different beads, I tried many ways to sew the bottom as to look like a really liner, and that's the result!

My daughter was sooo attracted by the colour, the bling-blings, and she tried many times to steal it, while I was tring to shoot it.

All of the details are hand-sewn.
I spent more time to make the details, than sewn and staffed the whole project, as my needle was too big for the beads.

I used silver-pink binds as sugar sprinkles

And a white knitted sueter as the cupcake liner.

I like the way it came out.
Hope she liked it, too : )

Mickey Mouse Cake

Yesterday was a really special day 'cause my youngest cousin turned 3 years old!
And guess what! I've made him a 3D cake for his Mickey Mouse b-party!

After a lot of researche and thought I decide to make a 3 tiered cake but in a more minimal and basic version (the truth is that I'm fend of classic cakes with little plastic, fake, miniatures on them...).

Let's see how I made it:

The first tier was made of :

Chocolate cake with...

Creme patisserie & dried strawberries filling

Then I covered the cake with buttercreme and white fondant that I've made

I added some yellow details (like mickey's shoes)

And I finished it with some black, mickey's head, cuts

The second tiered was made of  Biscuit Chocolate Pudding which I covered with red fondant and I finished it with some white buttons and a yellow ribbon

In every tiere I used cut straws to protect the cake by losing its shape from the weight

The last tiered was the mickey's head

I also used Biscuit Chocolate Pudding, that I covered it with buttercreme and black fondant

The Mickey's ears was the finish touch!
I made them of hard paper and toothpickes, covered with fondant.

 The party was great!
Cute, little people were playing here & there, fighing for some toy or talking about their adventures!
Everybody loved the Mickey Mouse 's Cake and some of the guests first thought that the cake was fake just for the decoration!
